Parts of the internet are today under heavy snow with webmasters warning of treacherous conditions for web surfers. Some sites find themselves completely closed off to the public and web geeks have been reporting slippery html code.
“This is unprecedented”, said weather nerd Gill McDongle. “Basically, the snow has affected the entire internet, especially those sites that are still using animated gifs like back in the 1990s. They’re the ones who are reporting the most problems. Our advice is to stay outdoors, and if you really do have to venture onto the internet, stick to the sites you know your way around and don’t move about too quickly.”
Web geek Benjamin Onlinedisease is currently being treated in his local hospital after a fall outside a World of Warcraft forum. He told the Daily Shame: “This snow is really killing us. I’m going to get cabin fever if I stay outside – who am I going to talk to without the internet? I’m still going to brave the conditions when I get home – I have to buy some viagra, and if I can’t access my inbox because of icy conditions, where else am I going to get it? Certainly not in the outside world.”
Internet meterologists are predicting that the snow will continue well into next week, and have issued severe weather warnings for online poker and social networking sites. McDongle added: “the best thing to do is to wrap up warm and go for a walk instead. Do your shopping in real shops until it clears up.”
